Congress party has now become a suppressed party under Uddhav Thackeray. A similar decision was taken regarding the places in Sangli and Bhiwandi. Shiv Sena announced the seat of Sangli.

Waghmare said, “All this has affected me. Because of this I am joining Shiv Sena under the leadership of Eknath Shinde who is a common man Chief Minister. So far no Chief Minister has done such a thing. Even the opponents have to accept this.”

Raj Waghmare said,“A service opportunity came while I was in Congress. I have said on record that popular Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is working for service to the public. Millions of activists are behind them. He is not an air-conditioned leader. There is a normal Chief Minister.”
