A big earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit Mindanao in the Philippines on Monday. It killed least three people and injured four others.

The strong earthquake caused a lot of panic. Buildings got. People quickly ran out of their homes, schools and offices. Videos on media showed buildings falling down and people running to be safe.

There was also a tsunami warning for some areas in the Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Palau and Papua New Guinea. Authorities told people living near the coast to move to higher ground.

In General Santos City some parts of a building fell down. Hospitals moved patients out as a precaution. Schools, in areas were also closed.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Told residents to follow evacuation orders and keep themselves safe.

Rescue teams are still working to help people and figure out how much damage was done.
