Several Delhi-bound trains for October 9 have been cancelled or rescheduled ahead of a protest called by a regional group at Jantar Mantar in the national capital on October 10. The move comes after authorities anticipated road traffic congestion near major Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations. The changes are likely to affect traveler from Jabalpur, Indore, Mumbai and other cities.
Besides, reports suggested that over a dozen students travelling on the Goa Express to participate in protests against the central government in Delhi, were made to deboard at Itarsi in Madhya Pradesh. However, the reason or circumstances of the incident could not be verified independently.
Railway authorities have cited the possible traffic congestion and restriction of movement around major railway stations as the reason for cancelling the services.
