India and West Indies are set to slug it out in the fifth and final T20I of the series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, October 17, but the weather could play spoilsport as rain and thunderstorms are expected to lash the city around the time of the match. The five-match series is currently tied at 2-2, so both teams will be looking to win the decider, if the weather permits.

Rain Could Ruin West Indies' Bid for Sweep

Bengaluru has seen some rainfall in the past days, and there are fears that it could continue on the day of the T20I match. According to the India Meteorological Department, the city is likely to have clouds, spells of rain, thunderstorms and lightning with temperatures varying between 20 and 29 degrees Celsius.

AccuWeather has also predicted heavy cloud cover with thunderstorms and rain around 7 pm IST, the time the match is scheduled to start.

If the skies open up, the ground staff will have to spend extra time preparing the pitch and outfield for play to resume or commence.

Bengaluru Braces for a Weather Twist in Series Finale

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru has a reputation for being a good batting ground, with short boundaries that encourage attacking cricket and high-scoring innings.

Both teams have shown their power-hitting prowess in the series so far, which has set the stage for a potentially exciting clash in the final match. India will be hoping to win on home soil while West Indies will be looking to take the series.

With the series tied at 2-2, every over could count if the weather allows for play to happen. The fans are hoping that the skies don't open up and the match can come to a decisive conclusion.
