Early Life

Swati Maliwal was born in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and later moved to Delhi with her family. She completed her engineering studies in Information Technology and initially worked in the corporate sector before entering social work. In 2015, she was appointed as the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), where she worked on issues like women’s security, cybercrime awareness, acid attack survivor support, and domestic violence cases. During her tenure, she actively highlighted several women safety concerns and pushed for quicker action in sensitive cases. As of now she has parted ways with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and has formed an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) due to ongoing internal conflicts.
