New Delhi (India) June 18: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan presided over a high-level meeting to review preparations for the re-exam of NEET UG on June 21.
High-ranking officials from the Ministry of Education, state government officials, representatives of the National Testing Agency (NTA), higher education institutions and other stakeholders participated in the meeting to review the examinations’ readiness for the re-test.
Pradhan Focuses on Transparency and Security
Pradhan stressed the need for transparency, integrity and efficiency during the examination process. He directed all concerned to work closely and ensure that arrangements were in place for the conduct of the examination.
Among other topics, officials discussed preparation and security measures that were put in place at exam centres in various parts of the country. They also reviewed logistical measures, coordination and preparations for the exam.
Officers To Coordinate With State Authorities
The Minister stressed the need for coordination at all levels and informed that officers of the Ministry would visit all the States to coordinate the activities relating to the re-examination and they would report to the Command Centre headed by the NTA.
He urged the nodal officers of the State governments to ensure that students are provided with the mandatory facilities and services to make them appear for the re-examination in a stress free environment.
Students Assured Fair Exam Process
The event had a hybrid mode, with 222 participants participating. Senior officials from different states, nodal officers of centrally funded institutions, vice-chancellors of higher education institutions across the country reassured the candidates that they would cooperate fully with them in all respects to make the exam a successful one for them and for the candidates.
NEET UG Re-Exam Scheduled For June 21
The review comes just a few days before the re-examination of NEET UG to be held on June 21. Government officials have been working to improve the examination process and ensure that the exam is completed in a fair and stress free manner.
NEET UG exam is the entrance exam to bachelor medical programs in every state in India and lakhs of aspirants take the exam every year.
