Gurgaon Firm Fires Himanshu Jangra After ₹370 Biryani Row
A Gurgaon-based company, Starvik Design, has terminated employee Himanshu Jangra after his controversial comments during comedian Pranit More’s stand-up show went viral online.
The incident, now widely called the “₹370 biryani controversy,” has triggered massive social media backlash over comments linked to misogyny and consent.
What Himanshu Jangra Said
Himanshu Jangra, a 23-year-old web developer, was attending a live comedy show when he spoke about a personal date experience.
He claimed he once spent ₹370 on a plate of chicken biryani during a date and jokingly suggested he deserved something “in return” for it.
He was also heard talking about pressuring the woman to accompany him to a secluded location despite her hesitation, which led to widespread criticism online.
Company Reacts and Fires Him
Following the viral clips, Starvik Design released a public statement confirming that Jangra has been removed from his position.
The company said his comments were “offensive” and do not reflect its values or workplace culture.
Founder Vivek Vishwakarma clarified that while internal checks showed no workplace complaints against Jangra, the nature of the viral incident made it necessary to take action to protect the company’s reputation and environment.
Social Media Backlash
The incident quickly spread across social media platforms, with users strongly criticizing the remarks made during the show hosted by Pranit More.
The controversy has sparked a larger debate around consent, online behavior, and accountability in public spaces.
