New Delhi (India) September 20: Iran has set out conditions for stopping the war with the US. According to an Iranian official, they have set out seven conditions for resuming negotiations and warned of the possibility of yet another 'decisive war'. Mohsen Rezaei, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said Qatar had passed the Iranian government set of conditions to Washington and that Iran was waiting for Donald Trump to respond.
He said, “We remain in contact with the mediator Qatar, which has conveyed our conditions to Washington with the aim of ending the war. We are awaiting President Trump’s response,” according to Al Jazeera.
“It is in Washington’s interest to accept these conditions. Trump’s threats will not achieve any results. We are prepared for a decisive war,” Rezaei added.
Seven Demands for Talks
In a separate post on social media platform X, he said Iran had announced seven conditions to begin talks with Washington and described Iran's stance as clear and unambiguous.
"Iran has announced 7 conditions for starting any negotiations to the US government. Tehran's message is clear and unambiguous; if Washington wants to escape the quagmire it has created for itself and avoid getting further entangled in it, it has no choice but to accept Iran's rights and conditions," he said.
Iran Ready for Attack
Rezaei did not rule out the possibility of another United States attack, saying that this was very much on the cards, according to Iranian military assessments. Tehran is ready for such an attack, he said, and the Islamic Republic's military planning had been reorganized after two previous confrontations.
He said that the US naval forces had been the target of the current plan, which focused along the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. Rezaei also said Iran had recently tested a multi-warhead anti-ship missile in the vicinity of a US vessel.
Nuclear Stance Stays Firm
On Iran's nuclear program, Rezaei said that Tehran had not decided to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, but that US actions could press Iran in that direction. He said that Iran would not change its doctrine on the nuclear issue and that Tehran still abided by a religious decree banning the use of nuclear weapons.
Rezaei rejected speculation that Iran might close the Strait of Bab al-Mandeb as well, saying that the waterside near Bab al-Mandeb was "a Yemeni issue," referring to the Houthi insurgency.
