After joint airstrikes on Iran by the United States Armed Forces and Israel, Donald Trump released a video on Truth Social laying down clear positions and warnings to Tehran’s leaders and military. The operations — also known as “major combat operations” — follow growing tension over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional threats.
1. “Tonight, bombs will be dropping everywhere”
Trump warned Iranians that the battlefield was active, and pressed Tehran’s armed forces — including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — to surrender, offering total immunity for laying down arms or “certain death” if they resisted.
2. “Our objective is to eliminate threats from the Iranian regime”
He said the operation “aims at neutralizing the immediate threats the Iranian leadership poses and ensuring that the country will never have a nuclear weapon.”
3. “Not going to put up with Iran's actions any longer”
Trump said no more would the U.S. tolerate what it called Iran’s hostile actions and characterized the campaign as needed for American security.
4. “We sought repeatedly to make a deal with Iran”
With failed diplomacy in mind, Trump emphasized that Washington had repeatedly sought to reach agreements with Tehran, but Iran rejected every opportunity, leading to the military escalation.
5. “Take over your government”
Trump famously urged the Iranian citizens to control the future of their country once the conflict concluded saying “when we are finished, take over your government — it will be yours to take.”
These comments emphasize a sharp upswing in U.S.-Iran tensions since the attacks and Trump casting the offensive as defensive as well as transformative to the region.
