A shocking crime in South Delhi has left everyone disturbed. A 22-year-old woman, daughter of an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, was allegedly raped and murdered in her home in the Kailash Hills area.
According to police, the accused, 23-year-old Rahul Meena, is a former household worker who had been fired by the family two months ago. He was arrested within hours of the crime from a hotel in Dwarka.
During questioning, the accused reportedly told police that he had gone to the house only to ask for money. He allegedly claimed that the crime “just happened” and even said, “If Didi had given the money, this would not have happened.” Police officials said he showed no remorse.
The victim, an IIT graduate preparing for civil services, was found dead by her parents when they returned home from the gym on Wednesday morning. Her father is a civil servant, and her mother is a dentist.
Police revealed that the accused strangled the victim using a mobile charger cable. A Delhi court has now sent him to four days of police custody for further investigation.
Officials believe the motive may include robbery, revenge, or a personal grudge, as the accused had previously been removed from the job for borrowing money from neighbours.
In another shocking twist, police also found that the accused may be linked to a separate rape case in Alwar. A woman had filed a complaint just hours before his arrest, accusing him of rape. Police are now working to gather more evidence, verify digital records, and fully understand the sequence of events in this disturbing case.
