Dr. Ketan Bhatikar, a Goa Congress leader died on Thursday night. This happened after a snake bit him near the border of Goa and Karnataka. Dr. Ketan Bhatikar was 38 years old. People are really shocked to hear about his death, including politicians, party workers and supporters.
Dr. Ketan Bhatikar was going to Dandeli village in Karnataka. On the way he stopped at Karmal Ghat for a while. That is when the snake bit him.
After this happened Dr. Ketan Bhatikar was taken to the hospital in Dharbandora, Goa. Sadly the doctors said he was dead when he got there.
Dr. Ketan Bhatikar was an active and dedicated leader of the Congress party in Goa. He worked with people. Was involved in social and political things for many years. Many people remember Dr. Ketan Bhatikar as a leader who always helped others and talked about issues.
Dr. Ketan Bhatikar even ran in an election for the Ponda assembly.. Then the election was cancelled because of a court order. Dr. Ketan Bhatikar did not give up he kept fighting. Went to the Supreme Court. The court has not made a decision yet.
Yuri Alemao, the Leader of Opposition in Goa is very sad about Dr. Ketan Bhatikars death. He said Dr. Ketan Bhatikar will always be remembered for the things he did for people in Goa.
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee is also sad about Dr. Ketan Bhatikars death. They said things, about him and sent condolences to his family and supporters. They remember Dr. Ketan Bhatikar for all the things he did for people.
