New Delhi (India) April 18:The Islamic Republic has once again denied giving the US its stockpiled uranium which was wrongly reported by US president Donald Trump to be under a deal. The Middle East country stated that the enriched uranium would remain under its control, "not be transferred anywhere."

No Uranium Transfer in Ceasefire Talks

It is argued by Iran that last week's discussions between the two countries, held in Islamabad, Pakistan, were mostly centered around the termination of the current war in the Middle East that had commenced on February 28, and that the talk of recovering Iran's enriched uranium was not part of the meeting. Moreover, other topics for discussion between the two countries included the abolishment of sanctions, and compensation for damage caused in the current war.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said, "Iran's enriched uranium is not going to be transferred anywhere. Transfer of Iran's enriched uranium to the US has never been raised in negotiations.”

He added, "The previous negotiations focused on the nuclear issue, but now the negotiations are focused on ending the war, and naturally the range of topics discussed has become wider and more diverse. The 10-point plan for lifting sanctions is very important to us. The issue of compensation for the damages incurred during the imposed war is of particular importance.”

Baqaei Hits Back at Trump's Truth Social Post

He further lashed out at the US president for posting on the Truth Social account that the blockade imposed on the ports by the US would continue till a peace deal was achieved with Tehran, though the Islamic Republic has announced that the Strait of Hormuz is now reopened.
"The opening and closing of theStrait of Hormuz, does not take p lace on internet, it is determined in the field, and our armed forces certainly know how to behave in response to any action by the other side," said Baqaei.
He added, "What they call a naval blockade will definitely be met with an appropriate response from Iran. A naval blockade is a violation of the ceasefire and Iran will definitely take the necessary measures.”

Trump Plans Big Excavators for Iran Uranium

For a long time the US has voiced its reservations about the nuclear program in Iran and stated that Tehran cannot be allowed access to nuclear weapons ever. Trump has frequently declared that a peace deal has been agreed upon with Iran where the latter has finally decided to surrender its enriched uranium, but has time and again debunked the claims made by Iran's leaders.
"We're going to get it by going in with Iran, with lots of excavators. We need the biggest excavators you can imagine. But we're going in together with Iran, we're going to get it, and we're going to take it back home to the USA," Trump said.
