New Delhi (India) February 13:Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Seva Teerth complex in Delhi today, which will house his new office. Seva Teerth, the Prime Minister said, is a site where policies will be shaped, and that must be powerful and inspiring. The old buildings had limited space, which hindered its function, he added.

From Colonial Shadows to Seva Teerth Glow

PM Modi commended the Prime Minister’s Office team and all secretariats for their efforts in the transition. The North Block and South Block were built by the British and stood taller than other buildings; the architecture and administrative priorities of the period were mirrored in the buildings themselves, he said. There will be a strong digital backbone to support e-governance and transparent administration.

Triple Power: PMO, NSC & Cabinet Unite

Seva Teerth will encompass three key executive institutions -- the Prime Minister’s Office (Seva Teerth-1), the National Security Council Secretariat (Seva Teerth-2) and the Cabinet Secretariat (Seva Teerth-3) -- that once operated from disparate locations.
It is also anticipated that their co-location will enhance strategic alignment at the highest levels of government.

All of these new complexes are equipped with digitalized offices, structured public interface areas and centralised reception areas to increase efficiency and get the citizens involved.

Ends Central Vista Chaos

For years, several ministries were based amid aging and dispersed offices throughout the Central Vista, a situation that gave rise to coordination problems, rising maintenance costs and inefficiencies.
The new developments bundle these capabilities into highly integrated and future-ready buildings to enhance coordination and streamline service.

4-Star Eco-Warrior Design

Constructed in accordance with 4-Star GRIHA standards, the complexes draw energy from renewable sources, employ water conservation solutions, provide waste management solutions, and include high-performance building designs.
They also feature intelligent access controls, surveillance and emergency response to protect officials and visitors. The name of Seva Teerth is among a wider strategy enacted by the government since 2014 to eliminate terms of some colonial nomenclature.

Instant Impact: RAHAT Scheme Boosts Millions

In its very first set of decisions after shifting to Seva Teerth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the PM RAHAT Scheme, doubling the target of Lakhpati Didis to six crores in addition to doubling the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund up to two lakh crore rupees and Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of 10 thousand crore rupees.
