Akshaye Khanna has held the keys to all the conversation in the last two months since the release of Dhurandhar, his major film. The Aditya Dhar directorial broke box office records as well, with Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt also starring in the film, with Akshaye’s performance as Rehman Dakait becoming one of the stars of the film. His powerful turn once again got a lot of fans rekindled by getting back to his good old interview sessions, movie footage and memorable moments, demonstrating to the world that he is, indeed, still one to follow.

Adding to the buzz is the latest throwback video, which in the year 2000, set the world ablaze while Akshaye sets the stage with his dance moves to Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic song Chaiyya Chaiyya from Dil Se (1998). Coming back almost 26 years later, the video shows Akshaye sharply clad in black suit and cap, his dancing partner Twinkle Khanna stunned in a glittering gold lehenga.

All they do is have an effortlessly good chemistry and smooth movements, making it difficult to ignore the performance without even a backward glance, with Akshaye clearly enjoying every moment on stage. The video further consists of Aamir Khan performing to Salman Khan’s evergreen track Dil Deewana from Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), and the group garba with Akshaye and Aamir dancing to "Dholi Taro Dhol Baaje" from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). Nonetheless, the resurfaced clip has left netizens swooning.

Social media users flooded the comments section with praise, with one writing, “Why is he so fine? One of those people who is just hot without even trying.” Another fan remarked, “I really like how he initially tried to hide the baldness but slowly owned it.” Others reminisced about his films, calling him a major part of their childhood, while one admirer simply gushed, “Such a handsome face .” A devoted Dhurandhar fan even joked, “Rehman Dakait in college days.”

Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna is all set to reprise his much-loved role of Rehman Dakait when Dhurandhar 2 hits theatres on March 19.
