At the time, in a shocking and brutal incident from Rajasthan, state-level kabaddi player Manoj Bhadu, 26, was kidnapped and beaten to death in Jodhpur district, police said. The case has sparked broad anger and concern in the region as police believe the killings are tied to an old personal animus. A group of unidentified attackers allegedly abducted Manoj Bhadu, a resident of Rawar village in the Bilara area of Jodhpur, late Thursday night, police reports said. Attackers reportedly intercepted him as he was on his way in a Scorpio SUV with two companions, headed to Pali district to make a business-related purchase.
Kidnapping and Aggression
Police said around 20 to 25 armed men who were in multiple vehicles pulled onto Manoj’s vehicle and forcibly dragged him off. His friends were able to escape, but Manoj was taken away and abducted to several locations. The attackers allegedly pounded him repeatedly with sticks and iron rods, causing severe injuries to his head, arms, and legs. He was critically injured near Lamba village in Pali district after the brutal attack. Local residents also reported the matter, and Manoj was taken to a hospital in Jodhpur. He was finally referred to Mathuradas Mathur (MDM) Hospital because of his serious condition and died from the injuries during treatment.
Murder Suspected In Old Rivalry By Police
Police officials believe the killing could have been the result of an old personal grudge. He had been involved in a physical altercation with a younger person, Mahendra, previously, and police are known to have gotten involved in it. Investigators believe the suspect was tracking Manoj for nearly 8–10 days in order to execute a revenge attack. Shivpura SHO Bhanwarlal Vishnoi confirmed that 7 to 8 suspects were identified and different police teams are raiding to arrest them.
Family Allegations and Protest
The victim’s family said the attack had been premeditated and that even the people going with Manoj may have told the attackers about his whereabouts. The kidnapping was carried out with complete planning and coordination, his brother said. Manoj’s body was then delivered to his family after the post-mortem examination. Grieving relatives and villagers assemble outside the hospital mortuary, where a protest calls for swift justice and arrest of all suspects.
