The famous Wankhede Stadium is the site of the much-anticipated semifinal. The winning team will face New Zealand national cricket team, who have beaten South Africa national cricket team and have booked their spot in the final.

Confronting the epic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semifinal competition, former Rashid Latif makes a bold prediction stating the English cricket team will beat the Indian national cricket team and take the final spot.

Rashid Latif backs England for the win

Latif, who spoke on a Pakistani news show, said that England’s powerful middle order and ability to handle pressure plays into its advantage.

“The semifinals will go to England,” Latif predicted. “They’ve handled awful conditions well and some of the hitters are already dominant. And their middle order is very robust.”

England’s familiarity with the conditions he added could be decisive.

“Just one England player playing well, it could be in themselves enough to lose for India,” he said.

India vs England T20 World Cup rivalry

India has a 3-2 advantage over England in T20 World Cup games, by historical standards. In the 2007 T20 World Cup, the two teams were first on stage and Yuvraj Singh famously smashed six sixes in one over to help India take over by 18 runs.

In 2012, India also won an impressive 90-run championship, and England defeated India in the 2022 semifinal to advance into the final. India also bounced back under Rohit Sharma in two years

England confident ahead of semifinal

Harry Brook, England captain, said he is confident that his team will handle pressure games.

He said England’s experience has made him more positive, noting that the team has indeed secured a few tight games in the tournament already.

Brook said the team's unity, belief, and composure in high-pressure situations were critical for their journey through so far.

With both teams stuffed with the big name players and a running team, the semifinal here at Wankhede is sure to be a thrilling game for cricket fans.
