New Delhi (India) July 8: Investigators probing the murder of Pune realtor Ketan Agrawal have received a shocking tip that the prime accused, Siya Goyal, had secretly tied the knot with her alleged boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary nearly four months before allegedly murdering her fiance.

The couple had allegedly solemnised their marriage even as they prepared for Ketan Agrawal's wedding in November, which was already planned with their respective families, according to the sources. Siya and Chetan allegedly kept their marriage a secret from their families, continuing with the wedding planning. The information emerged from police's analysis of digital evidence such as WhatsApp chats, call records, location data, and internet search history of the accused, covering a span of six to seven months.

Police Trace Marriage Certificate, Deleted Photos

Police are currently working to track the couple's marriage certificate in an effort to piece together the timeline and obtain concrete evidence of their alleged secret marriage. Technical teams from the police force are attempting to recover deleted photos from a private Instagram profile that is believed to depict Goyal and Chaudhary wearing wedding garlands, as investigators believe this could strongly support the claims of their prior secret wedding before Ketan Agrawal's death.

Snapchat Chats Raise Fresh Suspicion

An alleged screenshot of a Snapchat conversation purportedly between Siya Goyal and her friend had emerged earlier. The said conversation is said to have taken place around three weeks prior to June 18, on May 25, just weeks before 26-year-old Ketan was allegedly killed. The screenshot shows Siya asking a friend for her Aadhaar card to book flight tickets for a wedding.

The conversation then takes a cryptic turn when Siya states bluntly that the wedding will never materialize, yet she still requires the flight booking. The investigators are verifying the conversation and considering if the alleged flight booking was an attempt to create a diversion or frame a false narrative after the murder. This latest development comes amidst an intensification of the investigation into digital evidence and conversations exchanged between Siya and Chetan.

Failed Murder Attempt Revealed By Probe

On Friday, both the accused were remanded to 14-day judicial custody after their police remand expired. Ketan and Siya had become engaged earlier this year and were slated to tie the knot in November in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Elaborate wedding plans had been made, including the booking of two private charter flights for the guests. However, on June 18, Ketan was allegedly murdered, plunging his family into grief.

Police have stated that a previous attempt to kill Ketan had occurred on June 14 but failed, as Siya allegedly lacked the courage to proceed. The probe suggests that Siya had then messaged Chetan, expressing her inability to carry out the murder alone and urging him to join her to push Ketan off the cliff.
