Amit Rai comes from a poor family. Background: His father was a factory worker, so earning a living was hard for them, yet his father worked hard and met their needs. Amit Rai’s interest in movies emerged when he started watching movies in his dad’s video parlour.

Amit Rai has done theatre as he was interested in directing and writing, so he took part in theatre and passed the entrance exam at the National School of Drama. Then he completed his M.Com. degree. After that, Amit Rai appeared for the entrance exam at FTII in Pune.
Career
Amit Rai’s journey as director started when one of his Muslim friends gifted him a VCR. When Amit’s father went to his neighbourhood electronic shop to sell the VCR, the owner advised him to buy a TV set for partial payment. He did the same and started the business of a video parlour. Amit used to help his father in the shop and soon began watching movies and TV daily. Amit was hooked on them and was able to understand where the scene would cut.
Soon after that, Amit chose his career option, started doing theatre, and passed the entrance exam at the National School of Drama. Amit got a lot of rocks throughout his journey, but he always stood like a rock. Amit then worked with Mangesh Hadawale, who assisted him for the 2009 film Tingya, which was sent to the Oscars.
After struggling a lot to earn respect in the industry, Amit Rai directed the film Road to Sangam, which earned him the respect and recognition he deserved. Amit Rai’s upcoming films are OMG 2, starring the most famous and popular actors of Bollywood.
