Chai Sutta Bar Co-Founder Opens Up About How UPSC Failures Fueled His Success

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 18: Anubhav Dubey, co-founder of Chai Sutta Bar, recently revealed how his repeated failures on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams eventually led the way for his success.  Dubey talked candidly about his struggles with self-doubt and how a surprising business choice changed his life in an emotional post on X (previously Twitter).

This is for those who haven't received any award or recognition in their life, he said, addressing those who have never been recognised.  I hadn't won an award until I was twenty-five.  As a backbencher, I was.  Certificates and awards have never meant anything to me.

Turning failure into opportunity

Dubey disclosed that he approached his buddy Anand Nayak to talk about a business proposal when his confidence in passing the UPSC examinations began to wane.  He made the decision to take a risk in spite of his failure-related worries.

Before opening Chai Sutta Bar, I was terrified since I was a poor student who didn't excel at anything.  I couldn't shake the thought, "What if I fail at this too?"  But I was thinking differently this time.  I was prepared to devote all of my time, energy, and effort to it because I was more serious.  And it was successful," he said.

His dedication and commitment made Chai Sutta Bar a well-known tea chain.  The brand has gained love and recognition now, and Dubey is delighted to say that their workplace has become filled with awards.

A lesson in patience

Dubey closed his post with an inspiring message for anyone who is having trouble succeeding.  The story's lesson is that you are not naturally able just because you haven't won any honours or recognition.  Maybe it will come from somewhere else.  The only need is that you never give up.
