The 25-year-old man who was killed in a car explosion in front of a shrine in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu Sunday was questioned by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2019 for his ties to a radical network associated to Zahran Hashim, the architect of the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka.
An inquiry into a potential terror plot aspect has been launched in response to Jameesha Mubin’s death, which was brought on by an LPG cylinder explosion inside of a car. The authorities are keeping silent because the evidence around the bombing is still murky, but Tamil Nadu Director General of Police C. Sylendra Babu hasn’t ruled out a terror plan. According to Babu, they are looking into every possibility because the goods removed from his home “may have been meant for a future plan.”
