After being untraceable for a long time, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed a special court on Wednesday, July 10 that in the Sheena Bora murder case, the victim’s skeletal remains have been discovered. They were previously missing from the records but it has now been found that the remains were in the storeroom at the CBI’s office.

Court Received An Email And Hard Copy With Crucial Information

After CBI had claimed that Sheena’s skeletal remains were missing, they told the trial court in New Delhi on Wednesday that they were actually located at the CBI office. On Wednesday, Sheena Bora’s murder trial began again after Public Prosecutor C J Nandode said last month that Sheena’s bones are still untraceable. Forensic expert Dr. Zeba Khan was questioned in the witness box upon which the big revelation occurred.  The questioning happened after CBI judge S P Naik Nimbalkar claimed that an email along with a hard copy was sent by an individual who claimed to be Zeba Khan’s brother.

Alleged Association Of Forensic Expert and The Accused

The email received by the court alleged that Zeba Khan had initially examined the skeletons and was behind the possession of the bones of victim Sheena Bora. Further adding, the email said that Khan suddenly amassed great wealth following the examination before she was posing as a witness in the case. Reportedly, Zeba Khan had bought properties abroad and her bank balance also saw an increase, suggesting an association with the accused. The author of the email alleged that Forensic expert Zeba Khan and accused Indrani Mukerjea could be behind the scenes of the vanishing of the evidence in the case.

Zeba Khan’s Questioning To Continue

Upon receiving this information, the judge of the court was on high alert and realized the need for a serious investigation into the infamous case. Public Prosecutor Nandode has suggested the court to not halt Zeba Khan’s questioning just now. The court also demanded the skeletal bones being presented before the court the following day. Accused Indrani Mukerjea had earlier made the claim that no human bones had been discovered so far from the 2012 case, calling the case a ‘concocted story’. Furthermore, she said that Sheena Bora’s fiance Rahul Mekerjea should be arrested for questioning in relation to the case as he was the last person to have seen Sheena Bora alive.

About The Sheena Bora Case

Indrani Mukerjea, currently released on bail, is a former media executive and was primarily accused and arrested on August 15, 2015, for the alleged murder of Sheena Bora by getting her strangled in a car followed by directions from husband, Sanjeev Khanna in April 2012. Her body was later cremated in a nearby forest. A big disclosure was made much later from the murder that Sheena Bora was actually Indrani Mukerjea’s daughter and not a sister.
