The mother of the teen boy in Pune had earlier claimed that the viral video featuring her son was fake.

Mother’s Role in Cover-Up Plan

The mother of the Pune teen boy involved in a fatal Porsche crash is suspected of being part of a family cover-up plan. She previously appeared in a video, claiming that a viral video of her son was fake. Police now believe that her blood sample may have been swapped with her son’s to manipulate the alcohol test results.

Investigation into Medical Examination Irregularities

The investigation revealed serious issues in the 17-year-old’s medical examination at Sassoon Hospital. Maharashtra Medical Education appointed a three-member committee, led by Dr Pallavi Sapale, to investigate the matter. The committee’s report found blood samples from a woman and two elderly men were collected to switch the teen’s sample. Police suspect one of these samples belonged to the teen’s mother.

Search for Suspects and Arrests

Police are searching for the teen’s mother, who is currently missing. The teen is in an observation home, while his father and grandfather have been arrested. The family pressured their driver to take the blame for the accident. If the mother’s sample is confirmed, it would indicate her involvement in the cover-up.

Details of the Accident

The accident occurred on May 19, when the speeding Porsche driven by the teen hit a bike, killing 24-year-old engineers Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Kostha. The teen was drunk at that time and was released on bail within 15 hours. For his bail, he was asked to write a 300-word essay, work with traffic cops for 15 days, and seek treatment for his drinking habit.

Reaction and Further Investigation

The Juvenile Justice Board revised its order and sent the teen to an observation home until June 5. The investigation discovered that the teen’s blood report was manipulated. Dr Ajay Taware, Dr Shrihari Halnor, and staff member Atul Ghatkamble from Sassoon Hospital have been arrested. According to the reports, they received ₹3 lakh to switch the blood samples.

Hence, the case has drawn widespread attention due to the tragic loss of two young lives and the subsequent attempts at a cover-up. The police continue the investigation and are determined to uncover the full extent of the family’s involvement in the incident.
