The Avani Learning And Teaching Colloquium 2023 Was Held At The Avani Institute Of Design.

8th April, 2023 Mumbai: The Avani Learning and Teaching Colloquium 2023 was presented by the Avani Institute of Design. The Avani Learning and Teaching Colloquium (ALTC) is a twice-yearly gathering of the Avani faculty cohort, Avani Advisors, Governing Council, and Students to discuss academic practices, pedagogies, and scholarship with the goal of enhancing academic endeavours for the community’s overall development and growth.

The purpose of ALTC was to offer the teaching cohort more autonomy, visibility, and voice. Over the course of the five years of architectural education at Avani, all members contribute to the development of depth and coherence to learning goals and objectives by exchanging experiences, taking part in discussions, iterating and integrating the curriculum, fostering ongoing peer learning, and by sharing roles and responsibilities. ALTC provides a setting for career improvement and coaching. The Avani Academic Council is comprised of Professors Neelkanth Chhaya, Roger Connah, Tony Joseph, and Vivek P P.

“The exercises were never boring and were always thought-provoking. We were able to develop our communication skills and learn how to provide and accept constructive criticism through informal juries and critiques. It has promoted a greater understanding of teamwork as well as appreciation for the job we put our heart, soul, and sweat into, according to Ar. Tony Joseph, chairman and principal of the Avani Institute of Design.

The Council of Architecture has given Avani Institute of Design its approval and affiliation with the University of Calicut. (COA). A Council led by renowned architect Tony Joseph and some of the most talented up-and-coming professionals is in charge of running it. Some of the top national and worldwide practitioners and educators in the fields of architecture, design, and the arts make up the Institute’s highly active Advisory Council. The Institute advocates a wholistic approach to design education that will produce well-rounded professionals with the social, emotional intelligence, technical know-how, and sensitivity to handle the ever-evolving environmental issues. Avani wants to develop into an interdisciplinary programme for art and design that explores new possibilities for learning, teamwork in research, and original thought.
