Actor-producer Akashdeep Sabir, who has been part of films such as Zero, Milan Talkies, Sardar Ka Grandson, Sharmaji Namkeen, as well as upcoming films such as Shehzada, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Selfiee and Sam Bahadur, says that he is on the lookout for more interesting work in films as well as web series.

“With my personality, I’m being offered roles of rich, loud, funny Punjabis. I need to move from that space and attempt some challenging stuff. I was a hesitant actor and this second innings happened by chance. It took me time to get back to feeling comfortable. And now, I am. Obviously, I want to now push the envelope,” he says.

His scenes are mainly with Alia but Ranveer Singh is also present in the sequence. He had fun shooting with Ranveer and feels his energy is quite vibrant

He also says that OTT is bound to become people’s number one choice of entertainment. “What we get to see in the confines of our homes, with all the comfort and luxury, has resulted in people not stepping out every week, spending large sums of money to watch any and every film in theatres. I guess it now needs a biggie or a multi starter like olden times for me to want to go to a theatre. The entire world’s best content is available at a few hundred rupees, for the entire year, and it is bound to become bigger than cinema,” he says.

Ask him which are his favourite web series, and he says, “NARCOS from overseas because it is a show that sucks you totally and at the end when the drug lord is being hounded by the cops, you actually root for him and want him saved, despite knowing he is responsible for ruining an entire generation of Americans to drugs. Here in India, I have liked my own co-produced BREATHE. Especially the one with Madhavan. And, of course, I must say I liked DELHI CRIMES, ANDEKHI to name a few.”
