27th March 2023 Mumbai: For Arushi Nishank, time management means organising our time intelligently so that we are able to use it more effectively. The actor-director-producer shares how she juggles different things and has learnt to strike a balance between her personal and professional life.

“The benefits of good time management include greater productivity, less stress, and more opportunities to do the things that matter,” she says.

Everyone is occupied in their respective careers, yet those who belong to the entertainment industry often complain about shortage of time.

“When people are complaining about something, it is important for us to know that the universe conspires it into reality. So we should be very careful about what we are putting out there. It’s my motto in life that I never say, ‘I don’t have time’, but ‘I have plenty of time to get my things done to workout, spend time with my family and friends’. It’s important to be mindful of the balance you create and the time you spend,” she adds.

Sundays or offs don’t feel like a holiday now. Thanks to communication tools like mobile phones and social media, we have forgotten where to put a full stop.

“Technology is one of the greatest inventions of humankind. It is so powerful that it shapes our thinking and way of life within no time, it is ever-evolving.  Technology is a tool invented and sharpened by humans to make their life easier. Those who know the correct management of technology, be it any sphere of activity, have managed to make lives easier for themselves and, to some extent, also for others. But other than good aspects, technology has some harmful effects on children as well. From the surveys done every year, it is seen that the increase in usage of devices has caused many health problems in children hypertension, migraine, etc. The use of these also leads to body damage, both physically and mentally. Technology has separated children from their parents. They hardly talk to their parents and are busy chatting with their friends most of the time,” she says.

Sundays or off days don’t feel like a holiday now. Thanks to communication tools like mobile phones and social media.

“To spend your time better, start by understanding where your time is being spent. There are great time management apps out there to track time. For me, if it doesn’t get scheduled it doesn’t get done! I accomplish goals by breaking them down into very small projects that I can achieve on a daily basis. Taking breaks makes you productive. It’s important to get away from the notifications, the text messages, and your devices in general. Go take a walk in nature, doodle, or work out—something that won’t strain your brain or your eyes,” she adds.
