31 October 2023, Mumbai: Kareena Kapoor Khan is making waves! After her OTT debut in “Jaane Jaan” last month, her first film as a producer/actor, “The Buckingham Murders,” premiered at MAMI. Her co-star, Ash Tandon, has praised her acting skills and performance.
Ash Tandon Applauds Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Role in The Buckingham Murders
In “The Buckingham Murders,” Kareena Kapoor Khan portrays a multifaceted, intricate character. British actor Ash Tandon, a part of the film and present at the Mumbai opening ceremony, noted that Kareena delved deeply into her role. Her immersion was so profound that it made her superstar status disappear, allowing viewers to see only the character of Jaspreet Bhamra while watching the film.
Ash Tandon stated:”The thing about her (Kareena) is that she had immersed herself fully in the character. You don’t look at a superstar, but Jass. Kareena is very instinctive it makes you want to up your game. In a way she helps you perform better.” The movie, well-received at MAMI, had its earlier premiere at BFI London.
In “The Buckingham Murders,” penned by Aseem Arrora, Raghav Raj Kakker, and Kashyap Kapoor, the story revolves around Jasmeet Bhamra, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan. She portrays a detective and mother who, following the tragic loss of her own child, embarks on an investigation into the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire. Her pursuit leads her into a labyrinth of secrets, making nearly every town resident a potential suspect.
This crime thriller, helmed by Hansal Mehta, is co-produced by Kareena, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta Kapoor, marking Kareena’s maiden venture in film production. Following its impactful premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, “The Buckingham Murders” was selected as the opening feature for the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023.
After the screening, Kareena’s sister and actress Karisma Kapoor reviewed the film and expressed… “What a gripping and gut-wrenching film, Fabulous performance by the sister who had me in tears and such excellent performances by every cast member. Loved it. Congrats to the entire team.”
