28th May 2023, Mumbai: The Bollywood industry is buzzing with the release of various sequels. While several sequels have already been announced, such as Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starring in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal returning for Hera Pheri 3, Khiladi Kumar’s OMG 2, Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again, and Hrithik Roshan reprising his role in Krrish 4, there is news of yet another sequel. Pinkvilla has learned that producer Dinesh Vijan and filmmaker Tushar Jalota have once again joined forces for the sequel to Dasvi, tentatively titled Barwi. Last year, Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam, and Nimrat Kaur were announced as the main cast for the first installment.
According to insider information, the creators believe that Dasvi warrants a sequel and are eager to continue the story. Tushar has already begun working on the script and has an intriguing concept for the second part, which Dinesh also finds appealing. If everything goes according to plan, the film is expected to start shooting this year, reveals a source close to the project.
In a contrasting revelation, Abhishek Bachchan previously shared in an interview that he paid homage to his father, Amitabh Bachchan, in one of the scenes in Dasvi. He imitated Senior Bachchan’s iconic character, Badshah Khan, from the popular film Khuda Gawah, capturing his father’s mannerisms. Abhishek stated, “I have my own unique way of paying tribute to things I admire in my work. I do it in my own way. It’s just a personal delight for me. I remember, after we finished filming that scene, Tushar came over, and I told him, ‘This is my ode to my father.’”
Furthermore, Abhishek Bachchan has exciting projects lined up, including Remo D’Souza’s Dancing Dad and R. Balki’s Ghoomer.
