8th March, Mumbai: After helming many good and great films centred on female characters, director and producer Aanand L Rai is celebrating International Women’s Day in a unique way this year. Rai and his team at Colour Yellow Productions have sent out personalised gift hampers to all the women actors they have worked with through the years.
Rai who has always been optimistic about women in the movie world from the time he directed Tanu Weds Manu (2011) said the occasion meant appreciating the contribution of all his women collaborators–some of them who have been behind the camera too–in realising his vision as a storyteller.
Some of the actors who have received this special hamper are Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor, Diana Penty, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Taapsee Pannu, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar.
Rai is currently working on his Marathi film, Jhimma 2 and Taapsee Pannu starrer Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba.
