22nd August 2023, Mumbai: “Gadar 2,” the highly anticipated sequel to the hit film “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” that released in 2001, continues to make waves at the box office. However, after breaking records during its second weekend, the film experienced a drop in earnings on its second Monday. Directed by Anil Sharma, “Gadar 2” stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in lead roles.
Gadar 2 Earnings and Box Office Collection
According to early estimates, “Gadar 2” earned ₹14 crore nett in India on its 11th day of release. This marked a 64.01 percent decrease in earnings on its second Monday. Despite this drop, the film has amassed an impressive total collection of ₹389 crore so far.
400 Crore Milestone Soon?
The film is projected to earn around ₹11 crore on its second Tuesday, which would push its total collection to ₹400 crore in India. Notably, “Gadar 2” set a new record on Monday by registering the highest second-weekend collection in the history of Bollywood. Over the course of three days, the film collected ₹90.47 crore during its second weekend. This record was previously held by Prabhas’ “Baahubali 2,” which collected ₹80.75 crore in its second weekend, followed by Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” (₹73.70 crore), Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathan” (₹63.50 crore), and “Sanju” (₹62.97 crore).

Despite facing tough competition from Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2” at the box office, “Gadar 2” managed to make a significant impact. Sunny Deol recently shared his emotional reaction to witnessing the audience’s love for the film, stating, “I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, ‘I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara’ (I am happy, what can I do).”
