20th October 2023, Mumbai: From Russell Brand to Harvey Weinstein, here is a list of Hollywood celebrities who have recently faced sexual charges.
Several Hollywood superstars, including Russell Brand, Jason Derulo, Tim Ballard, and others, have been accused of sexual harassment. They are now facing claimed claims, and while some cases are being investigated, others have only recently come to light. We developed a list of Hollywood celebrities accused of sexual harassment.
Russell Branding
Russell Brand (48), a comedian-actor, is currently facing charges of verbal abuse from an unidentified source. The individual claims to have been a close acquaintance of Brand for several years and just came out with accusations of abusive language and aggressive behavior, according to an exclusive report from TMZ. According to the source, they were subjected to repeated instances of inappropriate language, creating an uneasy working environment. It’s worth noting, however, that Brand’s reps have categorically refuted these charges. They issued a statement claiming,, “Russell Brand is committed to kindness and empathy in all his interactions. We categorically deny any allegations of verbal abuse.” This matter is still being investigated, and more information is expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
Harvey Weinstein
Former Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein (71), who is presently serving a 23-year jail sentence for sexual assault and rape convictions, has been embroiled in other legal issues. According to Variety, additional fresh charges of sexual misbehavior against Weinstein have arisen from multiple individuals, both within and outside of the entertainment industry. These latest allegations have generated concerns about whether additional charges would be filed, potentially prolonging Weinstein’s legal troubles. Weinstein’s legal team has not yet responded to the new allegations. Given his vast history of charges and earlier convictions, this scenario will undoubtedly be widely followed by the public, legal experts, and the media in the coming days.
Jason Derulo
Emaza Gibson, an aspiring singer, filed a sexual harassment case against Jason Derulo (34) in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleging that he signed her to a record deal with sexual intents and even made unwelcome moves at her after they began working together. She also claims he became frigid after she declined his numerous sexual invitations. According to Emaza Gibson of NBC News, “I have anxiety; I’m traumatized. I’ve dealt with inhumane work situations. … I’m at this point where I’m back to zero and I have nothing.” However, the musician rejected the charges in a video posted to his Instagram account. “I wouldn’t normally comment but these claims are completely false and hurtful,” he said in the clip.
Brian Foster
Ashley Johnson of The Last of Us, along with six other women, filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Brian W. Foster, alleging sexual assault, stalking, and emotional stress. The seven women recently filed a civil claim against Foster in a LA County court. “Fueled by chronic abuse of drugs and alcohol, Defendant Brian Wayne Foster has, for the last decade, demonstrated a disturbing pattern and practice of chilling and depraved behavior towards women. The women unfortunate enough to have crossed his path were subjected to a common thread of physical and sexual violence as well as mental and emotional abuse. Foster has left a trail of victims whose lives he sought to control through various lies, threats, intimidation, and manipulation,” the lawsuit read. Foster has not replied to the charges, and the complaint does not include any legal representation for him.
Gérard Depardieu
In 2018, French actor Gerard Depardieu was again embroiled in rape and sexual abuse, however he disputed the charges. According to Variety, he wrote an open letter in French in the Le Figaro newspaper declaring he’s ‘neither a rapist nor a predator,’ in response to a 2018 lawsuit brought by Charlotte Arnould, who accused the actor of attacking her twice in his home. Furthermore, according to Mediapart, 13 women brought new charges of sexual assault or harassment against Depardieu earlier this year, which reportedly occurred during the production of 11 films produced between 2004 and 2022.
