3rd March, Mumbai: The most famous, known, and loved comedian of India is none other than “Kapil Sharma”. This amazing comedian has won the hearts of many and now he will soon be seen in the upcoming movie Zwigato. This wonderful carved movie will hit the theaters on the 17th of March. The theatergoers have already praised the movie in Toronto and also at the Busan Film festival.
Nandita Das is the producer of the movie. She has also directed the movies like firaaq and Manto. This movie has been made with the collaboration of applause entertainment of Sameer Nair and Nandita Das initiatives.
In the movie Zwigato, Kapil Sharma will be playing the role of a delivery boy named Mansa while Sahana will be performing the role of his wife named Pratima . The movie revolves around the food delivery agent’s life and struggles to support his family.for the first time Kapil Sharma will be seen doing a serious role apart from the work he has done before.
On the occasion of the trailer launch of the movie Kapil Sharma said he always admired Nandita Das and was a big fan of his, he also mentioned that he never had thought that he would ever be able to work with her or for her film. He has never dreamt in his entire life that Nandita Das would offer him a movie ever in his life.
In his own words “I have been a fan of Nandita ma’am’s work, so when she approached me for this script I was 50% onboard. Because when you admire someone and appreciate their work, you have a certain amount of trust in them that whatever they bring to you will be a work of sincerity. She gives her work a good amount of time, she doesn’t make two films in a year. I also thought that if she thinks I can be a part of her film then she must have given it a lot of thought. When we met and she shared the story of the film, I felt it was a (once in a) lifetime opportunity for me as nobody takes me seriously.” The comedian further said “My wife also started taking me seriously only after a couple of years of being married to me. Until we do something different in life (people won’t take you seriously). I would like to thank Nandita ma’am and Sameer (Soni) sir for believing in me.”
He also shared what Nandita said to her while offering her the movie “When she was narrating the story to me for the first time, I asked her ‘why me, main kyon?’ So she said something nice, but for a bit, I didn’t understand if it was a compliment for me or an insult. She said that for this film even if a global star like Shah Rukh Khan would agree to do it, she would say no. So then I asked her again, ‘why me then?’ so she said, ‘you have a face like an aam aadmi (common man). You look like you could be from anywhere in India and hence suitable for my character”.
Kapil Sharma has also worked previously in the movies like kis kis ko pyar krun and firangi. However, none of them hit the screens and therefore his acting career didn’t go on further and he only stuck to his comedy show thereafter.
