2nd June 2023, Mumbai: Pierson Fodé, star of “Bold and the Beautiful,” is the front-runner in the DC Universe casting call for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy.
During the audition process for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, a new performer has emerged as one of the leading candidates to play the venerable DC character. The Man of Steel and other beloved characters will get a new spin in the upcoming DC Universe, thus casting for those parts as well as other legendary ones is now in full swing for the eagerly awaited production.
James Gunn, the director of Peacemaker, told Variety in April that “the next Superman has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has to be, but he’s also an alien,” and that “we have some really great choices, which I’m excited about.”
The Bold and the Beautiful actor Pierson Fodé has joined the list of leading contenders for the part of Superman.
According to reports, Fodé submitted a self-tape that showed his idyllic upbringing on a farm in the Washington town of Moses Lake. It appears that the director was impressed with Fodé’s audition.
The 31-year-old actor is not the only one seeking to play Clark Kent in Superman: Legacy, though. A number of additional actors have also reportedly emerged as front-runners.
David Corenswet, who has frequently been proposed by fans as a prospective Superman candidate, was one of the first competitors to be mentioned. The name Corenswet has appeared in numerous fan films and artwork.
DC Studios has also taken notice of Andrew Richardson and Tom Brittney, who were supposedly “in the early mix” for the part. Additionally, two unnamed actors are reportedly on the studio’s list of prospective contenders for the Man of Steel role.
Nicholas Hoult, who was rumoured to have gone on Lex Luthor’s Lex Luthor audition list, has also been mentioned as a front-runner for Superman.
Notably, no final casting decisions have been made, and it is still unclear whether Fodé will appear in Superman: Legacy. Given the importance of this highly sought-after position, Gunn and DC Studios will probably look at a number of actors before making their final choice. There is a rumour that DC Studios may disclose some casting information at San Diego Comic-Con this summer.
