Satish Kaushik dies of a heart attack in Gurugram; Aamir Khan and Anupam Kher recall their experiences with the veteran actor-filmmaker!

9th March, Mumbai: Veteran Actor and film-maker Satish Kaushik, died due to Cardiac arrest at the age of 66 in Gurugram on 8th March. After the postmortem is conducted his body would be brought to Mumbai. Anupam Kher, the deceased close friend, and colleague confirmed the news of the demise. His body is in the hospital in Gurugram, on which a postmortem will be conducted and be brought to Mumbai.

Satish Kaushik was in Gurugram visiting someone, he was in his car when his health condition got worse and he got a cardiac arrest. Anupam Kher in his tribute to his dead friend said that he knows that Death is the ultimate truth of the world but he never imagined that he would have to write such a tribute for his best friend while still alive. They have been friends for 45 years, he also said that life would never be the same without him, Om Shanti.

Satish Kaushik was a Veteran actor, director, producer, comedian, and screenwriter. He was an alumni of National School of Drama and Film and started his career in theatre. In his long career in the Film industry, he has worked on wonderful pieces like Mr. India, Deewana Mastana, Brick Lane, Saajan Chale Sasural, and many more. He was the director of films like Roop Ki Rani, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Tere Naam, and many more.

Aamir Khan’ recalled the time he was interviewed for the position of Assistant Director by Late Veteran Actor-Film maker Satish Kaushik. On the demise of the veteran Actor,- Filmmaker died due to cardiac arrest on Wednesday in Gurugram. He was 66, he started his career as a theatre actor. In an interview last year, Aamir Khan recalls when he was interviewed for the position of Shekar Kapur’s Assistant Director by Satish. Aamir Khan recalls that he was just planning to join the Film Industry, but everything was uncertain. The actor though did have in mind that he wanted to work under the Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, an director he looked up to. At the time, Satish Kaushik was acting in the movie Calendar, and at the same time, he was the Chief assistant director.

Throughout the 1980s, Kaushik’s reputation and fame as an actor grew even further, and he continued to appear often in Hindi movies for the next forty years. You arrived in a car for our meeting, and I didn’t have a car at the time. I thus assumed that the junior I will hire has a car. He explained to Kaushik that the car wasn’t his and that the reason he had it that day was to conduct an errand for someone. Aamir expressed his shock at the irony and informed Kaushik that despite hailing from a film family, he was accustomed to taking public transportation.
