‘Globally Nearing the 1100 Crore Mark’:
‘Jawan’ is on the brink of crossing the remarkable milestone of 1100 crores worldwide. While this is an astounding achievement, it still places the film just behind a few other Indian blockbusters, including ‘KGF: Chapter 2,’ ‘RRR,’ ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion,’ and ‘Dangal.’
‘27 Days of Dominance’:
After almost a month of absolute dominance at the box office, ‘Jawan’ recorded its lowest collection on its fourth Tuesday, day 27 since its release. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated 2.5 crores on this particular day. However, this dip follows an extraordinary fourth weekend, during which it amassed 24 crores, maintaining its spectacular run.
‘Record-Breaking Journey’:
‘Jawan’ embarked on its journey with a bang, opening to a whopping 75 crores on its first day, setting a new record. It reached its peak on the first Sunday, collecting 80 crores across India. Since then, it has continued to rewrite Bollywood records, becoming the biggest Hindi movie in India and the second-highest grosser worldwide, just behind ‘Dangal.’
‘SRK’s Remarkable Streak’:
Shah Rukh Khan is now the driving force behind two of the three biggest Hindi movies ever made. He holds the distinction of being the only Bollywood star to deliver two 1000-crore plus blockbusters in a single year.
‘Global Impact’:
Globally, ‘Jawan’ is just 5 crores away from the coveted 1100-crore mark. It recently surpassed the lifetime gross of ‘Pathaan,’ another SRK starrer, which grossed 1050 crores. However, it still lags behind a few other Indian cinematic giants like ‘KGF: Chapter 2,’ ‘RRR,’ ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion,’ and ‘Dangal.’
Directed by Atlee, ‘Jawan’ was Shah Rukh Khan’s foray into pan-Indian cinema, and while it has predominantly played as a Hindi film, it still managed to make a significant impact in the Tamil and Telugu markets, grossing around 60 crores. ‘Jawan’ is part of a resurgence in Bollywood this year, alongside ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Gadar 2.’ Shah Rukh Khan’s fans can look forward to his third release of 2023, ‘Dunki,’ directed by Rajkumar Hirani, set to hit screens in December.
