PM Modi’s Environment Day Campaign
इससे जुड़ी तस्वीर… pic.twitter.com/2XeT9ootUU

Today, on World Environment Day, everyone is celebrating by planting trees and plants. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently secured his third consecutive victory in the Lok Sabha elections, ensuring the NDA’s overall win and thereby resuming office as the Prime Minister of the country. On this occasion of World Environment Day, PM Modi himself planted trees and shared pictures on Twitter. His post reads: ‘Today, on World Environment Day, I am delighted to launch the #Plant4Mother campaign. I urge fellow citizens and people around the world to plant a tree in honour of their mother or in her name. This will be a precious gift from you to them. Don’t forget to share pictures related to this campaign with #Plant4Mother, #एक_पेड़_माँ_के_नाम.’ He used hashtags like #Plant4Mother and #एक_पेड़_माँ_के_नाम to encourage planting trees in honour of mothers and to share pictures of the growing plants with the world in support of this campaign.

World Environment Day Event 2024
This year, in 2024, the theme of World Environment Day is ‘Land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.’ According to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, up to 40 percent of the planet’s land is degraded, directly affecting half of the world’s population. The host of this event is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Held annually since 1973, World Environment Day has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach. Land restoration is a key pillar of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), which calls for the protection and revival of ecosystems worldwide, crucial for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
