The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked Supriya Shrinate, the national spokesperson for the Congress, on Monday, Mar. 25, for an Instagram post that they later removed. The post included an image of actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut with an offensive caption.
The BJP demanded Shrinate's immediate expulsion from the party.
After receiving the BJP nomination for the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh for the next Lok Sabha elections, Kangana Ranaut attacked Shrinate on social media, saying that all women "deserve their dignity."
"Hello, Supriya ji. Throughout the previous 20 years of my artistic work, I have portrayed a wide range of ladies. From a prostitute in Rajjo to a revolutionary leader in Thalaivii, from a naive girl in Queen to a seductive spy in Dhaakad, from a goddess in Manikarnika to a demon in Chandramukhi," Ranaut said in a post on X.

"We must free our daughters from the shackles of prejudice; we must rise above the curiosity about their body parts; and above all, we must refrain from using sex workers’ challenging lives or circumstances as some kind of abuse or slur. Every woman deserves her dignity," she said.
Malviya asserts that Kharge ought to take decisive action against Shrinate.
Shehzad Poonawalla and Amit Malviya, two BJP leaders, also attacked Shrinate for the post.
Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, ought to take strong action against Shrinate, according to Malviya, the head of the BJP's national information and technology department.
In an Instagram post, Supriya Shrinate of the Congress makes a crude remark against Kangana Ranaut. One can't help but wonder how the Congress manages to gather so much filth in one location, given how revolting it is. The head of the BJP's IT division, Malviya, wrote on X. https://twitter.com/amitmalviya/header_photo
"If Kharge has any say in the party, he needs to fire her right away or step down."
Supriya Shrinate's remarks on the Kangana team are abhorrent! ought to be fired right away. Would Priyanka Gandhi take a stand? Will you fire her, Kharge Ji? Now, where is the lobby for "Hathras"? He stated on X, "First they justified Sandeshkhali, then Lal Singh receiving a ticket from the Congress, and now this."
After an offensive message about Ranaut from her social media account went public, Shrinate caused a huge commotion online.
Later, she denied ever publishing the same, asserting that someone else with access to her account had shared the "absolutely disgusting and objectionable post. "Someone accessed my Instagram and Facebook meta accounts and made an extremely offensive and repulsive post, which I have since removed. Knowing me, you know that I would never say it to a woman. The woman stated, "I just found out that a spoof account using my name started the whole mess on Twitter; I'm reporting it."
