On Saturday, August 17,  the Ambience Mall in Gurugram and DLF Mall of India in Noida both received bomb threats, causing significant concern and prompting immediate action from local authorities. No explosives have been found following the conduct of safety drills.

Ambience Mall Receives Bomb Threat Email, No Explosives Found

In Gurugram, Ambience Mall received an alarming email at 9:27 a.m. The email claimed that bombs were planted inside and threatened to kill the people in the building. This led to an immediate response from the police and bomb disposal teams. They evacuated shoppers and staff inside the mall and conducted a thorough search for over four hours. Fortunately, no explosives were found, and police are now working to trace the sender of the threat.

DLF Mall Evacuated After Bomb Threat

Later on the same day, DLF Mall of India in Noida also received a bomb threat, leading to the mall being evacuated. However, this was actually a planned security drill. According to DLF Mall representatives, the exercise was designed to test and improve their security measures. The mall was evacuated as a result and searched thoroughly for about two and a half hours, starting at 11 a.m. No dangerous items were found during this search drill.

DCP Promotes Safety Drills 

Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rambadan Singh suggested that the mock drill was important for ensuring safety. He explained that such drills help in checking the preparedness of security systems in large spaces. Fire services, dog squads, and police teams were all involved in the exercise. Furthermore, Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Mishra clarified that there was no real threat at DLF Mall, and the drill was conducted to ensure readiness for any emergencies.

Intensive Security Checks Amid Festive Season

The fake bomb threats and subsequent drills come at a time when authorities are increasing security checks due to upcoming festivals and other events. Despite the widespread scare, both malls are operating normally and continue to prioritize the safety of their visitors. DLF Mall of India assured its patrons that they are dedicated to maintaining high-security standards to ensure a safe environment.
