R Jogi has turned his life on his own through dedication, consistency, and hard work

R Jogi is a very famous name in the Punjabi music industry. He is best known for his Sufi songs. R Jogi was born in the small village of Kangarur to parents Smt Avtar Kaur(his mother) and Amandeep Kaur(his father) in a typical Indian household.  

Since his childhood days, R Jogi was always very creative. He had a keen interest in poetry. He used to be very popular among his friends and teachers because of his poetry.

R Jogi entered the music industry in the year 2007 with his first song named Charat. Since then, there was no looking back for him. R Jogi’s most viral song was “Jewen Patta Patte De Nal Tahni, which went viral making the whole Jogi fandom crazy. He is one of those musicians who go abroad very often to perform in front of a live audience. R Jogi so far has performed in the UK, Dubai, and Malaysia. 

R Jogi encountered a lot of hardship at the beginning of his career. Despite this, the man remained persistent and never gave up. He took his time, but eventually, his interest in musical instruments began to grow. Although initially challenging, he gradually enjoyed it. After his persistent efforts, Ustaad Lal Chand came forward and began teaching him music. 

In his early years, R Jogi met Music Director Jashan Badial. In 2007, this duo helped Jogi to give his first independent song Charhat & Put Sarda de, which was a big hit. It wasn’t long before he found his path to success and slowly things began to turn for him. Performing in the United Kingdom, he won everyone’s attention and marched up the success ladder.

Although R Jogi is best known for his Sufi songs he has almost touched every genre of music. Besides, all his songs have been well-received by his fans and well-wishers. Apart from modern music, R Jogi has also tried his luck in singing songs in the form of shayaries. His dedication, creativity, perseverance, and hard work have successfully made him establish a name for himself in the entertainment industry. 

Apart from being an artist, R Jogi is also a social activist who often stands for the rights of the Dalits and fights to end caste-based disparity. In Punjab, where many Dalits are still imprisoned by feudal institutions built by dominant castes, Dalit Pop is extremely popular. R Jogi sings about his anti-caste ancestry while expressing his beliefs and experiences. Symbolizing caste opposition, he shouts praise for Babasaheb Ambedkar and Sant Ravidas.
