The 369-foot-tall Shiva monument, “Viswas Swaroopam,” will be previewed on Saturday in Nathdwara, Rajsamand district, Rajasthan. It is said to be the world’s tallest Shiva statue, and it will be unveiled in the presence of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, and other dignitaries.
The statue was built by Tat Padam Sansthan and is located 45 kilometres from Udaipur. Following the inauguration of the statue, the trustee and chairman of the Miraj group announced a series of religious, spiritual, and cultural events from October 29 to November 6. A religious preacher will also recite Ram Katha during the nine days.
“This magnificent Shiva statue installed in Shreenathji will add a new dimension to religious tourism,” said Paliwal.
The statue is fashioned in a meditation posture and is said to be visible from 20 kilometres away. It is installed on a hilltop over an area of 51 bighas. According to Jaiprakash Mali, the program’s spokesperson, the statue is also visible at night because it has been illuminated with special lights.
“This idol is the ’s highest Shiva idol, finished with lifts, stairs, and a worshipper hall.” “Within it, there seem to be four lifts and three stairs,” he described.
It took ten years to build and required three thousand tonnes of steel and iron, as well as 2.5 lakh cubic tonnes of concrete and sand. The project’s foundation was laid in August 2012, in the presence of then-CM Ashok Gehlot and Morari Bapu.
The statue, according to Mali, was built to last 250 years and can withstand wind speeds of up to 250 kmph. “This statue’s design has undergone wind tunnel testing in Australia,” he added.
According to him, the area around the statue will include activities like bungee jumping, zip lining, and Go-Karts, as well as a food court, an adventure park, and a jungle cafe for tourists to enjoy their day.
