7th April, 2023 Mumbai: The seventh Ajj Din Chadeya with a Mela Phulkari theme was held in the capital city. The 1469 Original creators Kirandeep Kaur and Harinder Singh, as well as art historian Dr. Alka Pande, outstanding artists, designers, and photographers, put together the Mela in an effort to offer an immersive cultural experience. It was a modest attempt to share the same happiness that the proud traditions had brought the spectators. Mela Phulkari speaks the language of humanity and is not unique to the Sikh identity or geographical region.

Art and culture are quickly losing their value in the competitive world of economics, politics, and reproducible, despite 1469 Original’s tireless efforts to conserve and preserve them.

Workshop 1469 explores a number of issues through Mela Phulkari, ranging from the most worrying sustainability to social, ecological, philosophical, and cultural issues. Sustainability of our culture and knowledge, certainly, but also of the earth. The inventive founder of 1469, along with artists and Dr. Alka Pande, have transformed the annually hosted Mela Phulkari over the past six seasons to showcase Punjab and make it into more than just a movement but a festival—a celebration of art, folk origins, and song. Mela Phulkari returned with its 7th edition to revive the joy and magic after the pandemic brought about many changes, including three years without a Mela.

Some of the esteemed guests who attended the event were Deputy Chief of Mission Patricia A. Lacina, U.S Embassy and Consulates in India, Hans Jacob Frydenlund, Ambassador of Norway to India, Jagdeep Singh Sidhu Maker of Shadaa (Diljit Dosanjh highest revenue earned movie &Qismat & Sufna), Vikramjit Singh Sahney MP Rajya Sabha to name a few apart from performances by Baazigar from Bathinda, Sardars of Sangrur, Stand up Comedian Parvinder Singh
