On 22 May 2024, A heart-breaking incident happened in the Kalashi village of Pune district of Maharashtra there wear 7 peoples in the boat one of them used alarm but due to bad weather condition it won’t reached to the officials on time as there was a heavy thunder Strom at the place. Rescue operations are handled by NDRF (NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE) and SDRF (STATE RESPONSE FORCE).

 The health minister of the state, Tanaji Sawant gave a statement related, after a news of polluted water of Ujani Dam River which led to the cancer. Industrial waste is deployed in the river to the river which follows the flow of the water to Marathwada, and western Maharashtra. The polluted water flows from Mula and Mutha to Ujani from where the water is supplied to various places of Maharashtra and Karnataka, so here comes the quest, Was it a real boat accident or the curse of the nature?

The NDRF and SDRF teams were swiftly deployed to the site. Equipped with advanced rescue gear, divers, and boats, the teams faced the daunting task of searching for survivors and recovering the bodies of those drowned. to provide effect surveillance and assist in the search operations. “The victims included three men, a woman and two children”, Indapur tehsildar Shrikant Patil said. One man swam to the shore and alarmed, the local rural saviours and officials took efforts to rescue them.

Chief minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde expressed his sadness on the incident in statement he said Our hearts go out to the families of those affected by this tragic accident. The state government is doing everything in its power to support the rescue operations and provide assistance to the victims’ families.”

In the coming days, the focus will shift from rescue to recovery and investigation. The findings of the inquiry will be crucial in implementing changes to prevent future tragedies. For now, the community of Kalashi stands united in grief and solidarity, determined to support each other through this difficult time. The incident sparked a debate on water safety and transportation those incidents are coming forward in the frames regularly.  The tragedy reminds the safety and concern in all form of remote, rural areas.
