A family in Tila Mod, Ghaziabad, encountered a grave crisis as a raging fire broke out in their house due to an LPG gas cylinder leak. There were reports of four casualties, and two deaths, which included a woman aged around 36 years, Bhagmati, and her two daughters, Himani and Priyanka. The fire is said to have supposedly broken out when the members of the family were present in the kitchen.
Treatments Underway
It has been reported that the members strived to douse out the fire, but the fire escalated swiftly and no one had the chance to escape. Police immediately reported to the scene, and set up a rescue operation where the 7 members of the family were taken to a hospital. The injured members are currently undergoing treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Delhi.
Similar Reports of Fire-Related Accidents
The incident that led to the fire is currently being investigated intricately, and legal actions are underway. In recent months, there have been multiple reports of fire in Ghaziabad. There were reports of an AC blast in the previous month, which triggered a fire in The Merlin Society of Ghaziabad. In another incident, a family of five met with an accident where fire was enkindled due to a short circuit, leading to severe burns.
Preventive Measures
To avoid such tragedies, it is crucial to tackle the issue of gas leaks and understand the steps necessary to prevent such leaks. It is important to detect the early signs of a gas leak at your house, some of which include a hissing sound, a smell that is similar to that of rotten eggs, or an increase in the amount of natural gas that is being used in the house. All devices and appliances using gas, such as stoves, electric generators, and furnaces, should be daily inspected. Installing natural gas detectors is another way of detecting a gas leak in the early stages.
