Hefty Amount Of Money Collapsed With The Bridge

A bridge in Bihar that collapsed into the Bakra River has sparked chaos in Bihar. This incident took place in Sikti block of Araria District in Bihar. A portion of under-construction bridge that was constructed at the cost of Rs. 12 crores collapsed on Tuesday. The cause of the incident is yet known.

Easy Travel

This bridge on Bakra River was being constructed in order to make travel easier between the Kursa Kanta and Sikti areas of Araria. The bridge was still not open to public as the service roads were not yet constructed which resulted in no injuries or casualties to any person.

Video Surfaced Online

A video was shared by “ANI” on social media platform “X” which is showing the viewers the afternath of the collapsed bridge. According to the report by Amar Ujala online, the bridge collapsed and submerged in Bakra river.

Chaos in Bihar

After this incident took place, people were quick to have formed widespread chaos and panic in that certain area. People also alleged that the quality of materials used in the construction of bridge was poor leading to its collapse even before the inauguration. The opposition party in Bihar is demanding a probe for this incident.

Reaction of Nitin Gadkari

The union minister of India, Nitin Gadkari said that the bridge that collapsed was not under the control of Central Road Transport Ministry. Its work was going under Rural Development Ministry of the Bihar Government.

The Blame Game

Sikti’s RJD MLA Vijay Kumar accused the construction company’s owner for the negligence and demanded an investigation into the incident. “The bridge has collapsed due to negligence by the construction company’s owner. We demand that the administration should conduct an investigation,” Kumar said while speaking to news agency ANI.
