Heavy Traffic Expected In Mumbai Due To Modi-Kejriwal Rallies, IPL Match

Mumbai, May 17: Mumbai city is expected to have heavy traffic jams today May 17th. Mumbai Police has issued a traffic advisory and advised people to plan their travel arrangements accordingly.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has organised a Jahir Sabha in Shivaji Park, Dadar. The sabha is expected to have Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Raj Thackeray, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and many more dignitaries to address the public at the iconic ground. Due to security and traffic concerns, Mumbai Police has declared a no parking zone in the areas around Shivaji Park. Traffic will be diverted from these areas creating a hassle for the commuters.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s rally in Fataka Ground, BKC for the INDIA Bloc is also expected to cause traffic jams in the area with vehicles being diverted due to security reasons. These rallies along with an IPL match of Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants is expected to create congestion along Western Express Highway(WEH), Eastern Express Highway(EEH) and Marine Drive.

The citizens are feeling hampered due to these restrictions and traffic conditions which were already deteriorating due to multiple roads being partially or completely closed for repairs across the city. Many took to social media to express their anger.

These traffic restrictions are expected to cause more chaos and hurdles for people commuting in Mumbai who already have to face heavy traffic everyday. If you are planning to travel in the affected areas today, plan well and if possible avoid those areas otherwise you might be stuck in multiple traffic jams for a long time.
