New Delhi (India) May 10: After firing a missile towards Delhi, Pakistan tried a significant escalation with India; however, the Indian military successfully identified and destroyed Pakistan's Fateh-1 missile over Sirsa.

The Indian air defence system, which included the S-400 and Akash air defence, shot down every Pakistani missile.

For the past three days, Pakistan has attempted to use drone strikes to target many Indian cities, but the powerful Indian air defence system has stopped all of its attempts.

After Pakistan's escalation, the Ministry of Defence released a statement declaring that it is unacceptable to put civilian lives at risk and stated that, “Today at approximately 5 AM, multiple armed enemy drones were detected over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. Our air defence units responded swiftly, intercepting and neutralising all hostile UAVs. This blatant attempt to violate India’s sovereignty and endanger civilian lives is unacceptable.”

A drone strike from Pakistan damaged a Hindu temple dedicated to Shambhu in Jammu during one of the strikes. Along the Line of Control and International Border, explosions have been recorded in a number of locations and districts.

The strike by Pakistan, which is thought to have come from the other side of the Line of Control, was a part of a bigger plan to target important Indian military facilities, such as the Jammu Air Force station. The Indian Army reacted quickly, destroying Pakistani positions and drone launch pads close to Jammu with exact strikes.

India is accused by Pakistan for targeting its military stations with missiles, striking at important air bases such as Nur Khan base. Pakistan allegedly responded by firing its Fateh-I missile in the direction of a key Indian position. The Fateh-I is a guided artillery rocket system designed to hit military targets with precision.

India launched missiles at important air sites, according to Pakistan's military spokesperson. According to Pakistan Army spokesperson Lt Gen. Ahmad Sharif, missiles hit the Rafiqui base in Punjab province's Jhang region, the Nur Khan facility in Rawalpindi, and the Murid base in Chakwal. According to multiple accounts, Pakistan then launched its Fateh-I missile towards an Indian city Sirsa which was successfully intercepted.

As the two countries exchange fire and strategic reactions, tensions keep rising. India is still on high alert and has strengthened border security.
