Pat Cummins named as SRH Captain

New Captain

Australian speed star and captain Pat Cummins will be leading Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming IPL. He will replace Aiden Markram .Last year Markram led SRH finished bottom of the table. So the management wanted to make some fresh changes in the team.

Experienced Captain

Everyone has seen that how much successful leader Pat Cummins has been for the Australian Team. He led them to World Test Championship and 50 over World Cup in the year 2023.Both the wins came against India.

Bankable player

Pat Cummins is very bankable player for any T-20 team. He is a bowling all rounder. He also posses the big hitting ability which is must in the shorter format of the game . He has given very good performances in prior editions of the IPL.

Auction 2024

Cummins had withdrawn from IPL 2023 to focus on international cricket but entered the auction for the 2024 season, where he became the first player in IPL history to get a bid of INR 20 crore (USD 2.4 million approximately). SRH’s record bid of INR 20.50 crore (USD 2.47 million approximately) for Cummins was shortly broken by Kolkata Knight Riders, who bid INR 24.75 crores (USD 2.98 million approximately) for Mitchell Starc. Cummins, coincidentally, had been part of the KKR squad from 2020 to 2022.

New Coaching staff

SRH management made new signings in their coaching staff also . They replaced Brian Lara with Daniel Vettori  as Head Coach of the team. They also replaced Dale Steyn with James Franklin as bowling coach for the upcoming season.

IPL is beginning from 22 March while SRH will start their campaign against KKR on 23 March in Eden Garden’s Kolkata.
