Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, reiterated his demand for the inclusion of images of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi on banknotes today. He had encouraged the Prime Minister to issue new bank notes with the images yesterday, arguing that doing so would help the nation weather the current economic storm.

He publicly requested in a letter to Narendra Modi today that images of Mahatma Gandhi, Lord Ganesh, and Goddess Lakshmi be included on banknotes “on behalf of 130 crore Indians.”

“The nation’s economy is currently experiencing an extremely difficult period. India is still regarded as a developing, underdeveloped nation even after 75 years of independence… On the one side, citizens must put in a lot of effort, but in order for our labours to be fruitful, we also need God’s blessing “He stated this in a Hindi letter that he also shared to Twitter.
