The agency disclosed this plan in response to Special Judge M K Nagpal’s query on whether the matter should proceed to arguments on the framing of charges.

The agency clarified that it will file a report once the investigation has concluded. Advocate Nitesh Rana, representing businessman Arun Ramachandra Pillai, a co-accused in the case, highlighted that the matter should not proceed to arguments on charges due to the ongoing verification of documents supplied by the CBI to the accused. The case revolves around alleged irregularities in modifying the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22, including allegations of granting undue favors to license holders. The Delhi government initially implemented the excise policy in November 2021.
