Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference, agreed that the exit polls mostly predict a BJP-led NDA victory.

Optimism Despite Initial Trends

Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference (NC), expressed hope of winning the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat. Although he was trailing behind Independent candidate Sheikh Abdul Rashid by 25,000 votes in early trends, Abdullah remains optimistic.

Confidence in Final Outcome

“There will be ups and downs, but the final results will be in our favour,” Abdullah told reporters.

Views on Exit Polls

When asked about exit polls, Abdullah acknowledged their mixed accuracy in the past. “Exit polls have been wrong before but right sometimes too. While we are hopeful, we also have some concerns. It’s unlikely all the exit polls are wrong,” he said.

Predictions for NDA Victory

Most exit polls predict a BJP-led NDA victory, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to secure a third term. Some exit polls forecast the NDA winning over 400 seats, while most predict over 350 seats, well above the 272 needed for a majority.

Final Results Expected Soon

“Everything will be clear by 1 or 2 pm,” Abdullah added, indicating that the final results will soon confirm the accuracy of the exit polls.
