Prime Minister Narendra Modi made headlines recently due to his comments that he never does communal politics. While many people thoroughly disagreed with his statement and shared videos of his speeches where he allegedly engaged in communal politics, PM Modi himself gave a speech the next day engaging in what seems to be like a way to promote communal politics.

The video is an excerpt from his speech in Nashik where he can be heard claiming that Congress wanted to use 15% of the country’s budget on Muslims, something that did not happen because of strong opposition from the BJP. This goes completely against what he said in the interview with News18 after filing his nomination in Varanasi.

In the interview he had said, “The day I do Hindu-Muslim, I will not be eligible to be in public life.” Reacting to this, his critics shared videos from the 2024 election campaign where he did engage in such rhetoric.

Now, when he has again given a similar speech just a day after the interview, his critics are quick to point out the difference between his words and actions.

PM Modi has filed his nomination from Varanasi where he has won in the last 2 elections. The voting in Varanasi will occur in Phase 7 of the elections on June 1st. His party the Bharatiya Janata Party has been in the majority since last 10 years.

The Lok Sabha Elections are ongoing across the nation with Phase 5 of polling to occur on May 20th. The votes will be counted on June 3rd and the results will be announced on June 4th.
